At Crossroads Christian Church we are committed to taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to the whole world. Whether it is sending out teams or partnering with strategic ministries who share our commitment, our desire is for the gospel be taken to the nations. If you share this passion, then we invite you to join us. The following are the missions we currently support.
-House of Grace, Thailand
House of Grace is a student center in Mowah, in northern Thailand, which allows Karen students to finish their secondary education. In addition to discipling high school students, our location adjacent to an elementary school allows our missionaries to introduce Christ to elementary aged students as well. Our missionaries and our high school students have also begun to minister in the mountain villages where all of the children who live at the school are from.
-Heaven on Earth
Heaven on Earth is a ministry in Kenya, Africa. This ministry supports a school, an orphanage, a church and numerous outreaches around Homa Bay near Lake Victoria. It also feeds many in this extremely impoverished area.
-Word for the World
Ken and Sue Sawka currently serve in Zambia, Africa where they assist in translating the Bible into various languages that do not have the Bible. Recently, Ken led a team that translated the Book of Mark into the Kunda language. The Kunda people have never had God’s Word in their native tongue. The efforts of the Sawka’s are literally changing the lives of entire villages.
The Schwertfeger’s lead and oversee teams that go into remote areas of Africa and reach the lost with the Gospel. They are also very involved in building relationships with local governments and between tribes and nations in an effort to establish churches and Christian leaders. Jacob is well respected and consulted by many African leaders. This is rare, and is serving to advance the Gospel greatly.
–Valley Christian Church
Crossroads has partnered with Pastor Len Derico in planting a new church in the Youngstown, Ohio area. Pastor Len desires to build relationships in the community through various means with the ultimate goal of making disciples for the kingdom.
-Journey Church, Maine
Journey Church is a church plant in Hampden, Maine led by Pastor Jim Funari. As a state, Maine has one of the lowest percentages of Christians, and this church was planted in an attempt to bring Bible centered faith to the unchurched in a relevant way.
-Voice of the Martyrs (VOM)
VOM is committed to supporting, encouraging, and equipping the church where she is being persecuted. As part of the Body of Christ, we are commanded to identify with and support our Brothers and Sisters who are undergoing persecution or imprisoned for their faith.
Each month Crossroads sets aside a funds that we can send to victims of natural disasters or used to send teams of volunteers to aid in the cleanup of these disasters.
Under the direction of Ashley Steel, Urban Mission reaches out to those in need. It is a blessing to be able to partner with Urban Mission in helping to provide warm meals, clothing, and a warm bed to those in need.
–Aim Women’s Center
Helps give love and education to pregnant women who might otherwise seek an abortion. Using medical technology such as sonograms and sharing the love of Christ we are able to help give these women another alternative other than abortion.
–Jefferson County Christian School
Provides a Christian education to students K – 12 grades.
We feel that it is imperative that men and women called to ministry can follow that call. We assist students who are involved in pursuing a ministry degree with tuition.
Each month we set aside a small amount to assist local families who are in need. These funds are distributed by a team who interviews applicants and uses this opportunity to meet needs and present the Gospel. If you need assistance contact the church for a Benevolence form.
We support Elkhorn Valley Christian Camp by giving our kids scholarships to camp and providing Elkhorn with an offering annually.
